It was a long trip.. about 11 hrs each way! Addie held up pretty good. Guess what kept her happy?? You got it.. Elmo! And a new thing which surprised me. She loved playing with a baby wipe! She is totally into "washing" things. So I gave her one and she cleaned her car seat, her body, my arms and just found all kinds of uses for it. So between the two we made the trip a success!

Daddy is home..

Yesterday I was feeding Addie dinner in her high chair. The garage door is behind her high chair so she can't see who is coming through it until they pass her. So yesterday Josh was just getting home from work and Addie always gets excited but not quite like this. She just heard the door open and she threw her arms up and started trying to jump out of her seat and YELLED, "Da da da!" Then when she actually saw him she really went nuts! It was so funny. Man I wish I got a welcome home like that!! She loves her daddy oh so much!!

P.S. And she still can't say Mama. C'mon how hard could it be...

Last month we had our first family photo shoot. Josh's cousin, Mike was our photographer. He did such a wonderful job! We love all the pictures and here are our favorites..so many to choose from. And these are also Addie's one year old pictures too. She was such a little ham and did a great job too. Candy sneaker!

Addie has never wanted to sit on any one's shoulders...as you can see. I think its hilarious how she crosses her legs and wiggles as much as she can to try and get out of it!

Today I was in the computer room and Addie was playing with her toys in the family room. She comes walking in were I am and starts laughing. I look over and say "what's so funny?" Then she shows me that she found a big piece of candy in my purse somehow and was eating it . I go after her to grab it and she laughs harder and runs as fast as she can away from me! That little tease! She could of just stayed in the family room and snuck eating the candy but she wanted to show off what she had accompished. She loves to be chased and to chase us. Her newest thing is to have us chase her into a room and she tries to close the door on us before we get there! Where does she learn these things??

Always time for play

Addie loves to watch me vacuum. She will make sure not to get too close though or she gets scared. But watching from a close distance is fun, fun, fun. Addie makes me laugh, she will sit right down in the middle of were I am vacuuming and just watch. Then I move to another area... she walks over (and across my nice lines I must add) and plops right down. Sometimes I wont be facing her and I turn around to see her sitting right behind me and scoots along as I go. What a silly girl. And she will let me vacuum right up to her toes but as soon as it touches she squeals and backs away. It sure makes vacuuming (and any chores) fun with my little helper at my side!

Finally!!!

Look everyone! Addie's very first pig tails!! (I know.. pretty hard to see) Oh I love it! She finally has enough hair after a year plus to put a tie in them! Barely enough hair I must add. I had to distract her by letting her play in water but she let me do it. They stayed in all day until she took her nap. It looks like just a messed up piece of hair but I am so happy. I was squealing with excitement when it actually worked.. oh how I have tried many a times! And they even curl on their own at the ends! Man this is just the being of hair styles for this little one.. sorry Add! :)

I thought this pic was funny.. I was in the other room while Josh and Addie were watching TV at night. I come back in and this is what I find. I asked Josh why he was holding her so strangely... well actually NOT holding her. He said she just kept slipping down so he let her. She is passed out tired... ha ha the shirt is all up and arms up too. That is one tired baby!

That's hot...

So I did it.. I buckled down and got Lasix Eye Surgery yesterday. I have been wanting to do it for years. I figured I might as well do it now, so I have more years to enjoy it. Here I am stylin my eye protectors that I have to wear at night so I don't accidently rub my eyes. And the other pic is one of the big red spots on my eyes. Pretty sick huh. My poor eyes went through so much.

Lasix was an interesting and scary thing. I hated having my eye ball practically pulled out of the socket and burned. (thats what it felt like). It was really painful for a few hours after and that was it. Not bad for having surgery! Today I feel GREAT!! I can see 20/20 and don't even feel like anything was done. They aren't dry, sore, blurry.. nothin. I love it now and its so great to be able to see all the time! I just have to be really careful not to rub them for a few more days. I know its all gonna be worth it!

Still can't get enough of the sleeping princess

Addie is such a little exlporer. Nothing can stop her from what she wants to play with or touch or climb on. Lately she has been leaving surprises for mommy. Like the other day I couldn't find my camera. I searched everywhere but didn't find it until I was getting a bath ready for Addie and there it was in the tub. Then a few days later I found 2 clean diapers and my chapstick floating in the toliet! I have to just laugh. I can just imagine her rounding up all these supplies to fill the toliet with. So needless to say I have learned to keep all doors shut now. It's so funny to me that she can do that now. She loves to hide things from me, she even hides her own toys from herself by putting them under the couch. Silly girl makes me laugh everyday!

Sorry for my high pitched voice during these.. guess I'm just a bit too excited. You might just wanna mute it! She loves carrying this purse around. She knows just what to do with it and will stock it with her money and cell phone. Sorry it is sideways.. I gotta remember not to turn the camera!! I thought it was cute anyway

Josh is almost finished with framing our basement! He has done it all by himself and it looks great! It will be nice to have it all done someday and just have more room for Addie to run around! Josh, you are the man! Thanks for getting it finished for me! :)

12 things I love...

I love so many things about Addie from these past 12 mths. I have been blessed to have her in my life!

-how she can now sleep 11hrs at night without needing me once! :)

-she comes right over to me when I sit on the floor and sits on my lap

-she gets so excited when Daddy comes home!

-she is quite the dancer and loves listening to music

-she holds tight under my arm when I hold her on my hip

-she loves to be outside!

-she has always loved baths and can play forever in them!

-she will throw up her arms when you say," How big are you?" She loves showing off her tricks.

-i love the way she gives open mouth kisses..haha silly girl

-she is obsessed with Elmo

-she has lite up our entire lives and changed them for the better

-And I love how she has mommy and daddy wrapped around her little finger! We love you baby!

HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY, ADDIE!!

Yes.. its true. Our litte one is not so little anymore. We offically have a toddler! That is so weird.. she'll always be my baby anyway. We had a great day with her. She started off the day by sleeping in until 11pm! She has NEVER slept that long. I guess that was her gift to ME! She snuggled with me in my bed all morning. I loved it. We both have had colds this week so it was some much needed rest. It did the trick though, she was happy the rest of the day. We had Josh's and my family over for a BBQ and festivites. Here are a few photos..She was great with the presents. She loved all the attention and toys. I thought she might get over whelmed with it all but she did just fine. She got such nice things from everyone. Thank you!! Her party was Elmo theme and she got lots of toys to go along with her favorite show ever!

And here comes the cake... She got her own cake to demolish how she pleased. I think she would have more fun with the candle though! Addie is so good at sharing! "Here mommy, you eat it." Addie wouldn't touch her cake. It was the strangest thing ever. What kid wouldn't go crazy over a messy, frosting cake? She just stared at it. Josh finally grabbed her hand and jammed it in the cake. She got mad and yelled at him and tried to shake all the frosting off her hand. haha. What? now she decides to be a danty eater?? Whatever. We waited and waited for her to dive in, but no such luck. Josh ended up wiping frosting on her face for some pictures. Pretty sad that we were forcing our 1 yr old to make a mess!
